Children in Albania start school at the age of 6 years. Therefore, kindergarten runs for the age group 3-6 years. Due to the shortage of kindergartens in the town, and as we have so many young ones in our assembly, we decided to start a kindergarten for o
ur own children. This was done on a trial period, from April-July 1999, and has continued each term since then. We rent a large room in the Baptist Church for this purpose. We have had more than 30 children make their way through the kindergarten, and this year we have 16 children attending.
It is planned to have some rooms in the new hall which we can use for a kindergarten, with room for up to 50 children to attend. One of our believers is headmistress in a large kindergarten in our town, and we have a number of others that are qualified teachers for this age group. We hope to be able to use each of them, whe
n we move into the new hall.
Running the kindergarten can be quite expensive, and we are thankful for a brother in Tasmania, who has a burden for helping to support this project. At the moment expenses for running the kindergarten are 400EUROS each month.
